A woman was killed in a shooting early Sunday in the west Chicago suburb of Oak Park.
Police were called at 12:29 a.m. to the 1100 block of Lyman Avenue, near Harvard Street.
Officers found a woman who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. She was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where she was pronounced dead at 12:57 a.m., Oak Park police said.
At least 30 evidence markers for shell casings were seen on the ground after the shooting.
Police believe the incident may have been targeted.
The scene is a city block west of Austin Boulevard and the boundary with Chicago, and a short distance north of Roosevelt Road and the boundary with Cicero.
