BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — Indiana’s fourth-quarter comeback fell short, as Ohio State took down Indiana 19-15.
The Hoosiers trailed 19-7 early on in the first quarter, made the score 19-15 after a 16-yard Nick Marsh touchdown catch, but fell short on the game winning drive.
Then on 4th and 4 and the Hoosiers down to their last play, IU quarterback Josh Hoover threw to a wide open Nick Marsh in the end zone. Marsh caught what would have been the game-winning touchdown, but his feet were out of bounds.
The Buckeyes then kneeled down to seal the victory.
IU quarterback Josh Hoover threw for 20 of 40 completions for 296 yards. Senior wide receiver Charlie Becker led the Hoosiers offense with seven catches for 124 yards.
“I told the kids it was a tough one, really proud of the effort,” IU head coach Curt Cignetti said. “We gave ourselves a chance to win and certainly had the opportunity to. Sun comes up tomorrow and get ready for Michigan. Learn from the things we’ve got to learn from and it’s still all ahead of us. We can accomplish anything we want, all of our goals, except going undefeated.”
The Indiana defense forced two turnovers. Cornerback Amare Ferrell intercepted Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin twice.
