COLUMBUS, Ohio and WASHINGTON, DC (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – He may have endorsed him, but he says it was wrong to run a controversial advertisement.
Governor Mike DeWine would like Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswamy to take the ad featuring Amy Acton’s birth mother down.
The woman claims Acton is a liar and cannot be trusted to run the state.
At the age of 12, Mahoning County authorities removed Acton from the woman’s home.
Her stepfather was indicted on rape charges.
Ramaswamy stands by the claims made in the ad and even purchased more of them.
Meantime, President Trump pivoted on the ad campaign on Thursday.
After initially saying the relationship between Amy Acton and her estranged mother was a family matter, he praised the woman, saying it took a lot of “courage” to say what she said.
He also took the opportunity to lambast DeWine once again, saying he is being disloyal to the Republican Party in Ohio.
